Conejo Valley Unified School District is pleased to announce that beginning on May 1, 2019 all CVUSD schools will be using a new electronic visitor management system (VMS). Part of keeping students and staff safe is knowing who is on our campuses at all times, and the VMS will allow us to efficiently, and effectively do that. This new process will help us track visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools in a more streamlined manner. The implementation of this new system also further emphasizes our commitment to continually improving our school safety protocols and procedures.
I am pleased to share that all of our school sites will be ready to welcome back students and staff on Monday, November 26th. Work will continue throughout the holiday weekend and all inspections will be complete by Saturday.
Over the last four days the District has been doing everything possible to ensure our schools will be ready to reopen on Monday, November 26th. Our planning, maintenance, custodial, and grounds teams start their days at 6am, and have been working tirelessly to restore, and clean our 27 school campuses. Meanwhile, our District and school site leadership teams have been reviewing responses to our wellness check surveys, and determining the best way to prepare and provide for the emotional and physical needs of our students in the days and weeks ahead.
Based on CVUSD family and employee survey results, our District leadership team has been compiling a list of the most frequently asked questions received from the community. The answers to these questions, along with links to community resources and information are now available here.
All Conejo Valley Unified Schools will remain closed for the remainder of this week, and next week through the Thanksgiving break. We expect all schools to reopen on Monday, November 26.
