Congratulations to Michael Niemczyk who was announced as the new Principal of Westlake Hills Elementary School at the Tuesday, May 18, 2021 Board of Education meeting for the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Mr. Niemczyk has most recently served as the Assistant Principal for Colina Middle School where he implemented a model CORE program, developed an innovative ELD intervention weekly model, led school assemblies and organized student activities, along with other key leadership duties.
In a special, virtual celebration Brynn Hutchison was announced as the Conejo Valley Unified School District’s “Teacher of the Year 2021” with colleagues, District leadership, family and members from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce in attendance. Ms. Hutchison is currently a SHINE Homeschool teacher, and in previous years taught grades 3-5 at Banyan Elementary School. Earlier this school year, she was named CVUSD’s November 2020 Teacher of the Month, which put her in the running to receive the prestigious “Teacher of the Year 2021” recognition.

The Conejo Valley Unified School District establishes May 12, 2021 as "National School Nurse Day," as a way to publicly recognize School Nurses for their hard work and dedication to the students, schools and community, and for their accomplishments in supporting health and ensuring that students are healthy, safe and ready to learn.
Between preparing healthy food, adhering to strict nutrition standards, navigating student food allergies, and offering service with a smile, Conejo Valley Unified School District nutrition professionals have a lot on their plate. To celebrate their hard work and commitment, our schools will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on May 7.
