Sycamore Canyon School's Child Care Students Host Successful "Kids Caring for Kids" Campaign

Children helping children is at the core of a new philanthropic campaign underway at Sycamore Canyon School’s Child Care program.

Throughout the month of December Sycamore’s Child Care students, their families, and staff members have been actively collecting donations for children admitted at Los Robles Hospital Pediatrics Unit, PICU and Emergency Room – with any extra items being shared with those same units at St. John’s Hospital.

This is all part of the “Kids Caring 4 Kids” campaign which is designed to help students understand the importance of thinking about others by collecting items for those in need.

The Child Care program collected 135 gifts total including new stuffed animals, coloring books/crayons, board games, puzzles, fuzzy socks with rubber grips, restaurant gift cards, books of all types, and small blankets.

Each present was bundled together with a special student decorated card that contained well wishes.

The campaign and partnership between Sycamore Canyon School’s Child Care program and Los Robles Hospital was so successful, that this philanthropic campaign will soon be spreading to child care programs across the District for a year round partnership.
