A Message from the Superintendent

Dear CVUSD Community:

We woke up this morning to news of a terrible tragedy of violence that took place in our city. My thoughts and prayers are with the community we serve, the individuals, and families impacted, and local law enforcement.

Mr. Lichtl, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction  has been in close communication with local law enforcement. Our schools are safe, and there are no threats to them.  School counselors are available and at the ready for our students, and staff. Should you or your child need additional resources or support please reach out to a principal, counselor, or school and district leadership.  Be assured that all CVUSD schools will be open today, Thursday, November 8, 2018 as a support to our community.

As a community, we will be attempting to process this tragedy for the foreseeable future. Here are a few resources that may be helpful when talking with children about violence, and grief:

Again, our sympathy and hearts go out to all affected by this horrible tragedy.
