Congratulations to Dawn Thomas, CVUSD’s New Director of Special Education - Secondary
Please join us in welcoming Dawn Thomas to her new role as the Director of Special Education - Secondary, for the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Ms. Thomas first joined the CVUSD fifteen years ago as a special education teacher at Sequoia Middle School. She served as a special education teacher at Sequoia for eleven years, and most recently held the leadership position of Assistant Principal for Student Support Services at Thousand Oaks High School.
“Ms. Thomas brings incredible knowledge and expertise to her new position with the CVUSD,” said Dr. Mark McLaughin, Superintendent. “She has made a lasting, positive impact for the students at Thousand Oaks High School over the last three years and we are grateful for her leadership, and the positive contributions she will make in her new role serving students across all of CVUSD’s secondary schools.”
Ms. Thomas will serve as the Director of Special Education for all CVUSD middle and high school sites, while Erika Johnson continues to serve as the Director of Special Education for all CVUSD elementary and preschool sites.
Ms. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from West Chester University and a Masters in Mathematics from Western Governors University. She also has an Administrative Services Credential and an Education Specialist Instruction Credential - Mild/Moderate Disabilities.
