CVUSD Students Receive Youth Citizenship Awards

CVUSD Students Receive Youth Citizenship Awards

Congratulations to the 22 CVUSD students who received a Youth Citizenship Award from the Thousand Oaks Rotary. These annual recognitions are bestowed to a 5th grade student from each CVUSD elementary school and an 8th grade student from each CVUSD middle school. Students are chosen for the award for  successfully demonstrating good citizenship by helping others, for making a contribution to the school and community, and for being a role model to others. Students are also selected for exhibiting outstanding leadership skills.

This is the 35th Annual Youth Citizenship Awards where the Rotary Club has recognized our youth, along with the County and the City of Thousand Oaks.  Each student was acknowledged for their individual accomplishments at their school by Mayor Bob Engler and Council Claudia Bill-de la Peña from the Thousand Oaks City Council, Karen Sylvester President, Conejo Valley Unified School District Board of Education, and Dr. Dena Sellers, Ed.D. Director, Elementary Education-Conejo Valley Unified School District. Each student also received a certificate and plaque in honor of their recognition. Awardees were recognized in a special in-person ceremony on Thursday, May 26th. Please join us in congratulating the following 2022 Youth Citizenship Award recipients:
