Congratulations Anne Alvarez of NPHS - Our October 2020 Teacher of the Month

This educator is a source of awe under normal circumstances. While amid a global pandemic, her work ethic and tenacity to bridge the gap and provide foundational learning resources to all has been truly inspirational. She is a person of integrity, a timeless principle that reflects her gracious heart. We and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are honored to recognize Anne Alvarez of Newbury Park High School as our October Teacher of the Month.

Mrs. Alvarez is a Special Education/LEAP teacher, and has been with the District since for more than fifteen years. She unquestionable fulfills the written job description, but her contributions far exceed the expectations.

She has mastered the art of inclusion regardless of ability, making it comfortable for all students to work together. She consistently goes above and beyond to enhance the lives of all students they encounter, which is evident in the relationships they have built on respect and caring.

She exhibits the ability and attitude to adapt and learn new things, making a positive impact along the way. She is always up for new things and does whatever it takes to facilitate and support students and peers alike in accomplishing a new lesson or event.

Mrs. Alvarez faces diversity and adversity with a uniquely strong character and spirit. She effortlessly takes on massive tasks as if they are a labor of love - always giving her all.

She exemplifies the fact that small, simple acts of kindness can light up someone’s day - and often leave a more lasting glow. She is truly a shining example of the pride and passion that Newbury Park High School educators strive to emulate.

On Wednesday, November 17th the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Conejo Valley Unified School District surprised Mrs. Alvarez with the October 2020 Teacher of the Month recognition during a virtual staff meeting. Dr. Mark McLaughlin, CVUSD Superintendent of Schools, presented Mrs. Alvarez with a “virtual commemorative plaque” (a plaque will be delivered to Mrs. Alvarez). Thank you Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce for your continued partnership for the Teacher of the Month Recognition program. Congratulations Mrs. Alvarez
