Schools receive 2016 National Blue Ribbon recognition in Washington, DC

On Monday, November 7 and Tuesday, November 8 the U.S. Department of Education formally recognized the 329 schools from across the nation selected as 2016 National Blue Ribbon Schools at a special awards ceremony in Washington, DC.

EARTHS Magnet Elementary is one of 25 elementary schools in the state of California to receive the distinguished 2016 National Blue Ribbon Award and Westlake High School is one of just four high schools in the state of California to receive the coveted honor.

U.S. Secretary of Education, John B. King, Jr., announced today that Conejo Valley Unified School District’s Westlake High School and EARTHS (Environmental Academy of Research Technology and Earth Sciences) Magnet Elementary School have been named 2016 National Blue Ribbon Schools based on their overall academic excellence.
