The deadline to complete the 2020 United States Census has been extended. The Census counts our populations and determines how billions of dollars in federal money will be spent on important services, including schools.
In its 35th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company has announced Paige Sommers of Westlake High School as its 2019-20 Gatorade California Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year. I am so grateful for all of the questions asked, the emails I have received, the input collected online, and the hard work of our dedicated Committee Members which continues to help guide our Reopen and Redesign planning process for the 2020-2021 school year. Summer is typically a time for relaxation and time spent with family, which I wish for everyone in our community - as time with family feels more important and invaluable than ever. This summer our district continues to work tirelessly, with engagement and input from stakeholders, to plan and prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.
We are proud to recognize and honor our 2019-2020 retirees and also our employees with 15 to 45 years of service with the District. Unfortunately, we were not able to hold our annual ceremony this year, so please join us from a distance in congratulating them for their many years of dedication and service to our students, staff, and community.
