The week of December 2-6, 2019 is National Inclusive Schools Week. All year through, but especially this week, CVUSD celebrates our commitment to providing supportive and quality education to ALL students. We recognize each child is unique and when differences are celebrated, a community of inclusivity, kindness and respect results, which enhances learning for all.
Over the last four weeks Open Classroom Leadership Magnet (OCLM) students have been embracing the school’s fall theme of “Imagineers” – a theme that focuses on bringing each student’s extraordinary imagination to the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM). Students’ dedication to this thematic area of study was celebrated on Friday, November 22nd with OCLM’s annual Fall Fest, an all-day field trip at the Civic Arts Plaza.
On the morning of Friday, November 22nd, the Banyan Elementary School community gathered for a special event to thank first responders for bravely serving, and giving back to their hometown. The event featured the school’s annual Patriotic Assembly titled, “We are Thankful,” which included giving thanks to military service members, veterans, and first responders, and a special check presentation to the nonprofit Give An Hour.
National Inclusive Schools Week is December 2nd through December 6th.
