CVUSD Hosts Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament – Seven CVUSD Teams Move on to State Competition

On Saturday, February 22nd, the annual LA Basin Odyssey of the Mind Regional competition came to the Conejo! For the fourth year in a row this tournament was hosted at Westlake High School. Teams participated in the day’s event from schools in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles County.

Congratulations to Thousand Oaks High School sophomore Anushka on being selected as a National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Central California Rising Star for Aspirations in Computing 2020! Anushka was selected for this award because of the strength of her computing aspirations and accomplishments, as well as her leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.

CVUSD parents/guardians are invited to attend upcoming Preview Nights for Proposed Grade 9 Health Education Supplemental Materials on February 26th and March 5th. The Grade 9 Health Education course is designed to increase students' knowledge concerning various aspects of health, enabling them to make intelligent decisions that greatly affect their lives.

The Annual Ventura County Transition Fair is March 7th

The Annual Ventura County Transition Fair will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9am till Noon at the VCOE Conference Center, located at 5100 Adolfo Road in Camarillo. The purpose of the Fair is to help students in special education (ages 15-22 years old) prepare for the quality adult life they envision. The Fair is for students, parents, teachers, and care providers to learn about the transition to adult life process, and meet local agency representatives.
