Over the next seven weeks sixth grade students from across the Conejo will hop on buses and head to the Santa Monica Mountains for three and a half days of learning about the environment at CVUSD’s Outdoor School. There are no classrooms and no desks at Outdoor School, instead students learn about the environment with nature hikes and activities that focus on the California State Standards for 6th grade science.
In a surprise celebration on Tuesday, February 13th Jacqueline Meir of Los Cerritos Middle School received the February Teacher of the Month recognition award! Ms. Meir is a veteran English teacher with 22.5 years as a teacher at Los Cerritos Middle School and 23.5 years total as a teacher with the District.
CVUSD and community partners, including the Thousand Oaks Police Department, are hosting a FREE event on Wednesday, March 7th from 6-8pm for middle and high school students and their parents/guardians to learn important aspects of how to safely navigate social media, and identify techniques to avoid victimization.
Thanks to a longtime vision of Colina Principal Shane Frank, availability of the sole remaining portable classroom on Colina’s campus, and instrumental funding support from Colina PTSA and ASB – the school is now home to its very own Spin Lab.
CVUSD celebrates February 5-9, 2018 as National School Counseling Week in honor of the important contributions and services provided by our School Counselors to the students and families of the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
