The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Conejo Valley Unified School District are proud to announce CVUSD’s 2019 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Linda Gomberg of Be Me Preschool. Ms. Gomberg, who received the distinction of September 2018-2019 Teacher of the Month, has been a Special Day Class Teacher at CVUSD’s Special Education Preschool for 25 years. She provides special education programs and related services for students ages 3 to 5 years-old.

Congratulations to Newbury Park High School’s Jill Magnante, CVUSD’s June Teacher of the Month! The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Conejo Valley Unified School District are pleased to honor Ms. Magnante, who has taught English at NPHS for 5 years and was previously at Sycamore Canyon School for 9 years. 

EARTHS Magnet Holds 1st Annual Earths/Kindness Festival

EARTHS Magnet held their first annual Earth/Kindness Day Festival today during their lunch hour. The event was run by Thousand Oaks High School’s ASB, running different stations focusing on kindness. ASB serves the Lancer community by organizing events and activities for the student body. Students participated in a variety of fun-filled activities from planting seeds of kindness to writing kindness chalk quotes!

Reality Party for Parents

Conejo Valley Unified School District and the Thousand Oaks Police Department, along with other community partners, have organized a “Reality Party for Parents” exposing today’s teen party culture. At this “Reality Party,” on Saturday, April 27th, parents will tour a local Conejo Valley home set up to portray a teen party with youth actors voicing concerns expressed by local teens and young adults. The event is designed to show adults how they can change these dangerous social norms.
