The Annual Ventura County Transition Fair is March 7th

The Annual Ventura County Transition Fair will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 from 9am till Noon at the VCOE Conference Center, located at 5100 Adolfo Road in Camarillo. The purpose of the Fair is to help students in special education (ages 15-22 years old) prepare for the quality adult life they envision. The Fair is for students, parents, teachers, and care providers to learn about the transition to adult life process, and meet local agency representatives.

CVUSD Celebrates National Black History Month

At the Tuesday, February 18th Board of Education Meeting, Resolution #19/20-20 in support of National Black History Month was adopted. Black History Month is celebrated nationally from February 1 to February 29 and recognizes and honors the role that African-Americans have had in shaping U.S. history, along with acknowledging, and honoring the positive contributions that they have made to culture and society.

A Foreign Language teacher at Thousand Oaks High School, Ms. Martinez-Galvan has been an educator in CVUSD classrooms for 15 years, and an invaluable asset to CVUSD students for more than 22 years. She enhances students’ language acquisition with authentic, and relevant content, and by encouraging students to learn about their culture, and the culture of others. She possesses a growth mindset that has proven contagious to her students, colleagues, and everyone she encounters.

Thousand Oaks High Student Wins Young Investors Society Shark Tank Contest

Cole, a senior at Thousand Oaks High School, was selected as the Grand Prize Winner of the 2020 YIS Shark Tank Contest hosted by the Young Investors Society. For the contest students entered videos, and writing submissions on how they would allocate $1,000,000 to the companies pitched in Season 11 of Shark Tank. Students from across the U.S., Malaysia, and Hong Kong participated. Westlake High School student Lauryn was awarded second place. Congratulations!
