Maple Elementary School Dedicates Unity Tree
Maple Elementary students gathered on Monday, October 28th for a special Unity Tree Dedication event. The event, part of the school’s participation in National Bullying Prevention Month, featured a school-wide assembly that emphasized the importance of being kind to one another, and included students stating their Pledge to End Bullying:
I pledge:
· To support others who have been hurt or harmed
· To treat others with kindness
· To be more accepting of people’s differnces
· To help include those who are left out
Each student had previously participated in a schoolwide Unity ROCKS! Art project where they decorated rocks with messages of Kindness, Acceptance and Inclusion. On their return walk to their classrooms, Maple students and staff placed their rocks around the base of the landmark Unity Tree, creating a colorful and permanent reminder that everyone is welcome at Maple Elementary! Way to go Mustangs!
