New Vans Give CVUSD Students Access to New Opportunities

Over the last six months the Conejo Valley Unified School District has acquired five new vans for its specialized programs at Thousand Oaks High School, Newbury Park High School, Westlake High School, and Post-Secondary.

These vans are utilized for community-based instruction, and for accessing workability job sites throughout the community that could otherwise not be accessed via public transportation or a school bus. The vans continue to give students access to increased vocational opportunities specifically tailored to individual student interest. These van-accessed experiences promote generalization of self-help and independent living skills in authentic real-world settings for students of the CVUSD Special Education Department’s specialized programs.
