CVUSD Seeking Community Members to Join Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee
The Conejo Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) is seeking qualified, interested community members to serve on the Independent Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee for the implementation of the District’s Measure I school facilities bond program.
Measure I is a $197M bond measure that authorizes funding for needed repairs, upgrades, and new construction projects to the District’s schools. The bond passed in November 2014 with a voter approval of 65.28%, which is more than 10% above the supermajority requirement of 55%.
Key responsibilities of the Committee include keeping the public informed about the expenditure of Measure I bond proceeds, reviewing expenditure reports, and presenting an annual written report to the Board.
The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee will meet at least four times annually but not more than monthly, with meetings typically taking place in the late afternoon/early evening. Each committee member serves a two-year term.
