The John L. Notter Boys & Girls Club Celebrates Grand Opening

With a special grand opening ceremony inside the recently constructed John L. Notter Family Boys & Girls Club – a new era of enrichment services and educational programs are now available to our Redwood Middle School families, and community. Thanks to years of planning and hard work, the vision to have a beautiful, permanent Boys & Girls Club facility for the Redwood community has arrived.

Key representatives from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, the Conejo Valley Unified School District, the City of Thousand Oaks, and the broader community shared in the grand opening ceremony, which allowed guests to tour the brand new facility.

The Family Club features a:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley first began providing enrichment programs and activities to Redwood students in 2007. Since 2008, the Boys & Girls Club had been operating out of two modular rooms located on the Redwood campus.

The construction of the new John L. Notter Family Club was made possible by a $1 million donation from the John L. Notter Family, as well as from contributions from other generous donors to fund the $3 million construction project.

It is estimated that this new facility will triple the amount of youth served at this site via daily services and activities that take place throughout the year.

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is to enhance the lives of young people and their families by providing a positive environment that cultivates academic success, healthy lifestyles and character and citizenship.

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to collaborate with such a fantastic community partner to offer invaluable learning and enrichment opportunities to the families we serve.
