Colina Middle's Scott Farrell Recognized as CVUSD's January Teacher of the Month

Kindness, respect, and fairness without exception are at the core of how Scott Farrell treats students, colleagues, and the greater Colina Middle School community.

Mr. Farrell has been a Physical Education teacher at Colina for the past 14 years. He has a passion and drive for constant improvement in instructional strategies that is contagious, creates a positive environment conducive to life-long learning and fosters high student effort and enthusiasm.

He models a work ethic that recognizes that a school community is more than just a group of people – it is a single group of individuals and every single one counts.

He supports each and every student, regardless of learning ability, disability or special need, in a tireless effort to teach them that with a little hard work and dedication, they are capable of striving to reach their highest potential.

Mr. Farrell provides constant feedback to his students in a positive manner, building each student’s confidence in achieving the necessary standards and taking ownership of their personal health, nutrition, fitness and academic success goals.

He voluntarily serves on a number of school committees, supervises the campus at lunch, serves as the school’s UACT representative and Physical Education Department Chair, helps to organize school events and has been a pioneer in bringing the school’s Spin Lab to life.

Mr. Farrell is truly an asset to the Colina Middle students, parents, staff and colleagues where he is an exceptional educator who exhibits the highest professional standards, integrity and great character.
