CVUSD Celebrates National School Counseling Week
CVUSD celebrates February 4-8, 2019 as National School Counseling Week in honor of the important contributions and services provided by our School Counselors to the students and families of the Conejo Valley Unified School District. School Counselors continue to reduce barriers to learning and provide the support necessary for all students to achieve at the highest level possible.Thank you School Counselors!
The below Resolution was passed and adopted on January 22, 2019, by the Governing Board of the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
CONEJO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
IN SUPPORT OF NATIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELING WEEK
WHEREAS, Children have a natural propensity to learn and have the right to learn; and
WHEREAS, School counselors are actively committed to helping students explore their abilities, strengths, interests, and talents as these traits relate to career awareness and development; and
WHEREAS, To enhance the total environment in which children live and grow, schools must cultivate children’s intellectual, social, and emotional development, meet the educational needs of our culturally diverse student population, and promote early intervention to ensure students’ scholastic success; and
WHEREAS, School Counselors help parents and educators foster healthy child development and are the school-based experts in children’s learning and psychological development; and
WHEREAS, School Counselors seek to identify and utilize community resources that can enhance and complement comprehensive school counseling programs and help students become productive members of society; and
WHEREAS, comprehensive developmental school counseling programs are considered an integral part of the educational process that enables all students to achieve success in school;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Board of Education of the Conejo Valley Unified School District does hereby proclaim the week of February 4-8, 2019, as National School Counseling Week in honor of the important contributions and services provided by the School Counselors in California's public school districts.
