Thousand Oaks High Student Selected as Rising Star for Aspirations in Computing

Congratulations to Thousand Oaks High School sophomore Anushka on being selected as a National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) Central California Rising Star for Aspirations in Computing 2020! Anushka was selected for this award because of the strength of her computing aspirations and accomplishments, as well as her leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.

Anushka likes to program, enjoys a good coding challenge and loves learning about java cryptography. She is currently researching how homomorphic encryption can be used in the healthcare industry. In addition to her programming interest, Anushka is studying for the CompTIA A+ exam so she has a well-rounded understanding of computer systems. One day, Anushka hopes to go to Caltech with a major in aerospace engineering and a minor in computer science.

An awards ceremony honoring Anushka’s Rising Star achievement will be hosted by the Women in Technology and Operations (WIT&O) advocacy group at Bank of America and California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo on Saturday, April 25th, 2020. Congratulations Anushka!
