Dr. Eric Bergmann Announced as New Principal of Thousand Oaks High School
Congratulations to Dr. Eric Bergmann, the new principal of Thousand Oaks High School! The Board of Education for the Conejo Valley Unified School District announced at their Tuesday, January 23rd meeting that Dr. Bergmann was selected as the new Principal for TOHS.
Dr. Bergmann comes to CVUSD from San Marino Unified School District where he served as the Assistant Principal for San Marino High School, a high school that recently ranked as the #23 best public high school in California by U.S. News and World Report.
Dr. Bergmann has nearly 25 years of experience working in education. He began his career in education as a U.S. History and AP U.S. History high school teacher for an inner-city public high school in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Prior to his role at San Marino High School, Dr. Bergmann was Principal of a high school in Newberg, Oregon, Principal of a middle school in Portland, Oregon, Principal of a junior high school in Salt Lake City, Utah and Assistant Principal of a high school in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“We welcome Dr. Bergmann to his new leadership role at Thousand Oaks High School and we look forward to him continuing the Lancer tradition of outstanding academic, athletic, and performing arts programs,” said Dr. Mark McLaughlin, CVUSD Superintendent. “Dr. Bergmann’s vast experience as a public education leader will be a valuable asset to the CVUSD community.”
Dr. Bergmann has a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Utah, a master’s degree in Education from the University of Utah and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Oregon.
Former principal of Thousand Oaks High School, Lou Lichtl was named Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services for CVUSD by the Board of Education on December 5th.
