Kathryn PeoplesKathryn’s passion for creating a transition plan to the new NGSS standards has helped CVUSD be recognized as a progressive District and has earned her the honor of receiving one of ten STEAM STAR AWARDS. This award comes from The National Science Teachers Association and Amplify Education.

“I have enjoyed every challenge, success, partnership, and ah-ha moment in the creation of our integrated curriculum,” Kathryn said. “I believe in the power of using science as a vehicle for deep learning and thinking and I am amazed at what my second graders can do every day.”

As a STEAM STAR AWARDS recipient Kathryn is invited to a special celebration this November at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library where she will receive an Amazon Tap as a thank you for her time and dedication to science education.

Kathryn has been a presenter for CVUSD’s NGSS Rollout trainings since 2015. She can also often be found at Instructional and Science Leadership Conferences throughout California where she shares her expertise in science inquiry based instruction.
