Kind Campaign Comes to Colina Middle

School assemblies focus on character development and inclusivity

“Be Kind,” posters adorned the buildings of Colina Middle School’s campus as students partook in kindness and inclusivity focused special assemblies on Thursday, October 12th.

Colina was one of 200 schools in the greater Los Angeles area who applied for the Kind Campaign to come to its campus and it was one of just 30 schools selected for a Kind Campaign Founders Assembly.

Kind Campaign is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying through their global movement, documentary film, in-school assemblies, and educational curriculum. This assembly is specifically designed for 6th-8th grade female students.

As the Kind Campaign took place in the gymnasium, All it Takes ran a special leadership program to promote kindness among the school’s 7th and 8th grade boys on the school’s baseball field.

Together these assemblies, along with a “Citizenship” assembly led by Colina Principal Shane Frank, provided students with a morning of character building opportunities.

Way to promote kindness and inclusivity on your school campus Colina Cougars!
