Welcome to GATE

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) provides qualitatively differentiated learning experiences for students with unique abilities, interests and talents in all academic areas and/or visual and performing arts with the expectation that students will be successful learners capable of performing at high levels of ability. Research has shown that specialized instructional strategies, along with opportunities for gifted students to interact with each other on a daily basis, yield higher academic performance, as well as improved social and emotional well-being.

Upcoming Events

GATE screening for 3rd grade students and testing for referred students in 4th grade and above will take place throughout the month of December with additional follow-up assessments conducted in January and February.

The GATE Placement Committee reviews each student score individually. As such, our hope is to have parents notified of the results via US mail prior to the start of trimester three. Newly identified students may join GATE activities in the final trimester of the year.
