Welcome to GATE

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) provides qualitatively differentiated learning experiences for students with unique abilities, interests and talents with the expectation that students will be successful learners capable of performing at high levels of ability. Research has shown that specialized instructional strategies, along with opportunities for gifted students to interact with each other on a regular basis, yield higher academic performance, as well as improved social and emotional well-being.

Do you have a newly identified GATE student and wonder what this new world is all about? Our New GATE Parent Webinar and presentation slides can help. If you have any questions, please email Stefanie Caswell.

Upcoming Events

Are you curious about Executive Functioning? Would you like to better understand it and learn some strategies to strengthen your student's Executive Functioning? If yes, then please join us on Thursday, January 28th from 6 - 7 PM for a presentation by Dr. Lisa Miller, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services. During this 60-minute presentation, you will learn about several cognitive processes (e.g. attentional control, cognitive flexibility) and how the integration of these processes make up Executive Functioning. Check your email inbox for registration information.

The GATE DAC 2020-2021 Calendar can show you when our next GATE parent meeting will take place. To access the agenda, visit Board Docs for more detailed meeting information.
